You would think the Republicans would be making a big point of the fact that we have not had any warming in 20 years.

Maybe,

There was Pinatubo in 91 supressing global temperature through around 93. Since then we have had rises in global temperature so your claim doesn't look correct.

The better thing to do is to point out that the chicken littles predicted much more warming that has failed to materialize. Also with the amount we do see in the graph above, it leads to 1.3C in the next century if it keeps going up linearly (unlikely since we are in a warm "stable state"). The most likely outcome of not having the extra CO2 would be a plunge into the cold state which we definitely do not want.

IF changing CO2 levels resulted in temperature changes, that would be true. However, actual data shows exactly the opposite--CO2 levels FOLLOW changes in temperature, by an average of 800 years.

The entire CO2-greenhouse effect-AGW THEORY has been debunked by the actual DATA. This is the point of fact that needs to be made.
