The Coming Global Warming Voter Backlash
American Thinker ^ | April 4, 2013 | Jonathon Moseley

Posted on 04/04/2013 12:11:54 AM PDT by neverdem

News is breaking out all over: global warming stopped 20 years ago.

A political earthquake has resulted from a feature story in the Economist magazine because the Economist used to be a consistent cheerleader for global warming activism. Doubts about global warming used to be censored by its London editors, one reporter confided to Stephen Hayward.

So what will voters do to Democrat candidates in 2014 and 2016 when the former realize that the Democratic Party was lying to them? Is it time to run away from the issue for Democrats, journalists, and Hollywood personalities?

While our economy is struggling and our nation in debt, Democrats squandered tens of billions on a climate change hoax. How many voters are unemployed due to climate change polices? Unnecessary regulations are strangling people's jobs and their lives. And then one must wonder: what else were Democrats unbelievably wrong about?

Can Democrats hide by claiming that climate change hysteria was an innocent mistake? It was never a credible story. Democrats, journalists, and liberal commentators went way out on a limb. Like the collapse of ENRON or Bernie Maddoff's Ponzi schemes, political fortunes have been built on the shifting sand of bad science. Japan's Society of Energy and Resources in February 2009 declared the myth of man-made global warming to be like "ancient astrology."

Liberals always knew, as reported in TIME in 1969, that it was even warmer during the period of Viking exploration than today, in the Medieval Warming Period. Greenland was actually green when Vikings landed and averaged about 2 degrees Fahrenheit warmer in 1200 AD than today. In Greenland, human villages are being uncovered from under the ice when glaciers melt. The Climateers have to erase this time from history, when it was hotter than today only 700 to 1,000 years ago...

Most democrat voters cannot read, reason or solve a problem. They get their news from E! or the Daley show. They never heard of the economist.

and this is just the smart ones and members of congress. This is wishful thinking.

Yep, because even if wrong, they were "on the right side of the issue".

Based on my own observations of liberal friends, glaciers could grind to a halt in their back yards and they would Still Believe.

Facts mean nothing and science only matters when it supports their neurosis.

No, the Democrats will claim that all that money we sacrificed saved us from a catastrophe.

Global warming is a huge hoax

democrats, government and the news media have been lying to the American people for decades

governmentS funded this fake research for DECADES

This proves that government is evil, a threat, doesn't work and should be kept limited as it was in the 1800’s America

what other science have they been lying to us about ? think different, question the “authorities”.

There was a time when I thought things like this author does, in reality there won’t be any kind of backlash, interest will not not even reach 50%.

The media’s and the left’s hysterical motivation tales and the resulting blunders just move seamlessly on to the next one, with no public discussion or awareness, there is never any looking back, just forward movement and media saturation of whatever the day’s new theme is, with a casual whitewashing or erasing of the previous day’s disastrous theme.

They will still vote Democrat because the Democrats still offer to give them the most money.

The only hope if if the country goes bankrupt and there’s no more “stash” to give out, the base of the Democratic Party will begin to riot. The only thing the GOP could then do is point out that their “stash” was given to environmental wackos. With any luck, they will attack each other.

It’s funny when liberals claim to be pro-science for believing in man-made global warming, but can’t site any evidence for it. They just say it’s “consensus”. 100% of scientists agree, they’ll say. First of all, it’s no where near 100%, a figure just pulled from a particular orifice. And further, consensus is not part of the scientific method. For them it’s a matter of blind faith, motivated by politics. It’s just the liberal line, which they must follow or be a “bad liberal”.

Political activists calling themselves scientists offer raw opinion and speculation. And now Western civilization is in deep trouble. We are sinking back into superstition, in which elite priests tell us what to think.

At the very end of the article:

Are our schools teaching science, or myths?

Now, there's a question for you.

Yep, because even if wrong, they were "on the right side of the issue".

More importantly, all of the hype over global warming helped raise "awareness" of environmental issues.

I think we can hope for that; most unfortunately, I have a hunch most looters don't care to lug their loot home over great distances.

Loot locally; hate coast to coast.

Guess it’s a good thing we didn’t spend a trillion dollars to deploy those aluminum foil thingies in the upper atmosphere then.
