I don’t think there’s a lot of Bible Thumpers in that district compared to other parts of South Carolina. The Charleston area isn’t Greenville. I think most of the thumpers voted for the other guy that Huckabee backed or didn’t even vote.

Probably so, but he didn’t need to attack Laura in that fashion. Anything that’s carried to an extreme isn’t good. And that’s true in religious expression as well. We talk about the Loony Left, but there’s a Loony Right too. The people who thought Akin and Mourdock were right on message are in the same class as those who were called out by O’Gasbag. The problem is that the “adults” on the Right are not going to vote for these people, unlike the more mainstream Leftists who WILL vote for a Marxist. And the Loony Rightists are willing to “stay home” to make a point that isn’t germane or isn’t worth making because their “understanding of the scriptures” “tells” them that it is. Jim Jones was good at getting these types to kill themselves.
