Leading gun-control advocate Mark Kelly warned Republican senators Sunday that trying to block a vote on new firearms legislation that includes universal background checks could hurt their re-election efforts.
Kelly, a former astronaut and Navy captain, directed his remarks to Sens. Rand Paul and Marco Rubio, among five Republican senators who have suggested they will filibuster a debate and full floor vote.
They should listen to their constituents and not get in the way of the debate, Kelly told Fox News Sunday.

Of course! They're Democrats. It's in the genes. But he also a ghoul cashing in on his power-wife's misfortune. There's a very special place waiting for him in Hell.
He’ll sick that dog on the Republicans.
Good things can happen to bad people.
He’s completely a demented ghoul. The photos he released of her dead-looking hand, and then just the back of white sheets — creep me out to this day. Not to mention scuttling her off to TX at a time when the brain swelling really should have kept her on the ground.
We have no problem taking on Sarah Brady. This guy should be no different. The only way we get anywhere with the left is by letting them know that we’re treating them like they treat us.
More like the wife’s payroll. I’m guessing that Mark took a massive financial hit when he divorced his first wife to hook up with Gabby Giffords. Kelly met the future Congresswoman as part of a delegation to China in 2003; a year later, he ditches his wife and children for Giffords. To preserve his Navy and NASA careers, I’m sure that Kelly had to give up a big chunk of his active-duty pay, investments and retirement pension—and rightfully so. Adultery was—and still is—a crime under the UCMJ.
But not to to worry. Ms. Giffords is a multi-millionaire, so in the best tradition of John McCain and John Kerry, Kelly married a woman with a bank account large enough to sustain his upscale lifestyle. In return, he’ll do whatever it takes to keep his second wife happy, including the full embrace of her political party’s views on gun control.
By my calculations, Kelly’s Navy pension is a little over $5,000 a month. He was married to his first wife for more than a decade of his military career, so she’s entitled to half of that, plus he’s probably still paying child support to his daughters. Sure helps having a rich second wife under those circumstances.
Yes, I do recall that. There was an entire air trip that shouldn’t have happened in there somewhere. I think it was to return to Tucson to sop up some attention from Obastard about something.
Hey Kelly, go buy another AR and STFU.
“should listen to their constituents”
AR’s are backorder for almost 2 years. They ARE listening. You aren’t asswipe.
Kind of makes one wonder how a man spends 24 years in the Armed Services, including astronaut time, and retires as only a “captain”?? Most men who are in the military that long would probably retire as at least a colonel. What’s up with this guy??
****************************
He’s a Navy Captain; one step below Admiral, just as a Colonel is one step below General.
When he found out how much money he could make as an “advocate”! From an old Abbott and Costello routine.....$1 for you $1,$2 for me, $2 for you $2,$3 for me, etc.
So, Mark Kelly goes from a Navy Captain and Astronaut to being the new Sarah Brady.
He’s having sex change surgury too?
Sometimes my satire is a bit too weak. Nice, I thought, he is so anxious to help republicans win. Who is he really talking to?
bump
Oh! :0)
This disgrace to the uniform is delusional.
he had to prove ID, military ID, nasa id, passport, etc.
