Don’t know where you live, but here in Indianapolis that is becoming the case. For years the big downtown merchants and the city fathers were able to talk the media into not reporting what going on downtown at the big mall and other places like the Circle, but the problem has gotten so much bigger and more violent they can’t hide it anymore. Gang retaliation shootings along the canal walk, violence at the CC Mall, random acts of violence against people leaving resturants etc. have become the norm. It is now moving out to the malls on the edges of town. Just had a killing at one a couple of weeks ago and a near riot and shooting across the street from one of the others. I can’t speak for other cities, but in Indy the Bla ..... uh Amish youth problem is getting out of control.

I live near the Houston metro area. The media here self-censors to the point no one reads it anymore; half the town could be in riot lock-down and no one would know about it. All we really know is to avoid the downtown after dark and any/all of the parks unless your packin’ or with a large group of similarly armed individuals. 50% or more of the “residents” flee the area for rural domains on friday and drive back to their bunkers on Sunday to be at work on Monday.
