Yes, Pat, my parish did the same Intersessionary Prayers (but they do every year).
As to praying for the Jews as a single prayer, remember that our Saviour is a Jew... That’s the way I see it.
The next prayer was for Muslims and others...
A few years back the Church got into trouble as they called for conversion of all these peoples, including the “Perfidious Jews”. That language has since been scrubbed (in 1955 I think).
Ain't nothing wrong with asking for the malicious murderers to have a change of heart. Downright charitable if you ask me.
Oh my goodness AB....
“perfidious Jews”?
Talk about politically incorrect.
We do the Intersessionary Prayers too but this is the first time they had us kneel and stand 22 times and it’s the first time two Deacons sang the narrative as we knelt in pain.
Why did EACH Deacon have to do the SAME Intersessionary narrative? That doubled the kneeling/standing for the SAME prayers.
It’s no matter, I am over it. I know in my heart the complaints will be many. People all around me were suffering.
Easter Vigil was wonderful but while we have time I will complain before my rant about Mark Kelly and gun control.
I thought the choir was a bit full of themselves and I exclude myself from the lot.
First, I am NOT a Cantor, never mind that I don’t sing all that well but also I have no desire to stand up before the congregation and sing. It’s not my strong suit if you get my drift.
The Choir Director had all the Cantors...which is MOST of the choir, share in the Easter Vigil cantoring and this sucked.
They too were full of themselves, climbing in and out of the pews, demanding the end row....like about twelve of them, one sang this verse the other sang that verse....
Yada, yada.
It was like a talent show these holy masses!
Anyway, Mark Kelly.....
....there’s a pic floating around of this hypocrite buying some kind of rifle.
I despise these politicos who think they were elected to somehow do what THEY think is right, not what we elected them to do.
Kelly...heh, he’s perfect, just perfect...look at how the Dems see him:
An astronaut, husband of a Dem congress critter shot and brain damaged by a gun, a man who must care for his wife....dear Lord he is PERFECT!
Prop him up, make him a sympathetic icon of the gun victims.
He’s a hypocrite and hey, where’s the elected guys pushing back against this guy?
We got big things going on here in Delaware re gun control....I despise them all.
They are our masters, they know what’s best for us.
