I do not put much credence in this. Saw the Black Sea Fleet a couple of years ago in Sevastopol. It was in very rough shape with most of their larger units laid up.
There hasn't been the money to keep it up to par.
Too, lest we forget, the fleet has to sail through the Bosphorus to get to the Med. This has been a problem for Russia since the 1700's.

It was in very rough shape with most of their larger units laid up.I guess the real question is who are they trying to intimidate. Is this for domestic consumption or for Obama's? Who should this worry: Ukraine, Georgia, Syria, Turkey? It could be he's intentionally ruffling some feathers in his military ranks.
