As a leftist lesbian professor, I despised Christians. Then I somehow became one.
The word Jesus stuck in my throat like an elephant tusk; no matter how hard I choked, I couldn't hack it out. Those who professed the name commanded my pity and wrath. As a university professor, I tired of students who seemed to believe that "knowing Jesus" meant knowing little else. Christians in particular were bad readers, always seizing opportunities to insert a Bible verse into a conversation with the same point as a punctuation mark: to end it rather than deepen it.

How did you arrive at your interpretations? How do you know you are right? Do you believe in God?
These basic critical thinking questions were sent by a pastor to the author in response to an article she wrote. Despite being a tenured professor that espouses critical thinking as a key academic skill, these three questions angered her yet they caused her to open up to the possibility of not having all the answers.

Excellent article. Thank you for submitting.
Amazing story - this woman is truly courageous for opening up and being willing to be obedient to the God whose existence she denied for so long.
Now that is one heck of a last line.
Fortunately most Christians are loving and forgiving.
Here is a link to a Harvard Crimson article from 1997 when the CT author was actively decrying Promise Keepers in the way she describes in the CT article. It gives a contemporaneous look into the author’s mind without any editorial fog that may exist in the CT article.

Yes, that line struck me, too. It’s good for any/all of us recognize that fact about ourselves.
“ It be best to not repeat her story or others could be harmed especially children.”
So there BB :)
The Left will always say shes denying her true self. Theyre waiting for her to backslide and falter so they can say we told you so. I wish her the best.
Thanks. Great article. So like God to do the impossible for love’s sake.
Thanks for the link to the Harvard Crimson article. It was definitely written by a leftist totalitarian, which verifies that her conversion was truly remarkable, if not a miracle.
Great way to approach such things.
All true conversions are true miracles.
Yes, we Christians forgive, but; it is the Lord who forgives. It is the Lord who merely asks one to ask for forgiveness and accept Him. Yesterday my wife awaited a very dangerous surgery and it was 50/50 at best. The lord answered our prayers again. Our 12 year cat is extremely ill and she, too, is facing death. I have yet to hear about my little girl/cat, but; the Lord does know best.I went through war with my grandmother’s blessing inscribed on a brass business card like piece. It read-”Go out into the darkness and put your hand in the hand of the Lord. That shall be for you better then light and safer then a know way.” It was as two bullets did not kill me.

Beautiful testimony. Very interesting story of how she came to Christ. God bless the pastor she mentioned (I think his name was Ken) for doing what Jesus did - He loved and spent time with and was a “friend of sinners”. Jesus never condoned sin, but He demonstrated His love and concern for them and didn’t treat them with hatred and contempt.
