Comcast Cable, "the nation's largest cable provider," has decided it will not accept firearm and ammunition advertisers in the future.
This decision comes after Comcast has been running ads for some gun and hunting groups for decades. Comcast chose this new position after purchasing NBCUniversal, which has a long-standing ban against firearm, ammunition and firework advertisements.
This move brings Comcast in line with its competitors, Time Warner Cable and Cox Communications.
Cox already had a ban similar to the one Comcast has now instituted and Time Warner Cable announced in January that it was banning "ads showing semi-automatic weapons and guns pointed at people."

Their “brand” is so loathed around here that they travel under the alias of Xfinity these days, LOL.
Maybe I’ll have to sign up with them just so I can cancel service ;-)
This sounds like corporate (marketing department) mental masturbation.
That’s just the motivation I need to cancel my last comcast service.
make your calls folks.FIGHT
My timing, for once, is perfect. I just dumped Comcast last week.
"And now back to our regularly scheduled back to back to back Rambo movie marathon"
WARNING: THIS IS AN OUTTAKE FROM THE LAST RAMBO MOVIE AS POSTED ON YOUTUBE
I see firearm ads all the time on Dish Network.
Charlie may be a fervent member of the Regime, but he loves $$ even more, LOL.
Oh dear Lord, now I'm gonna have to call my doctor because I've had an erection last for for more than 4 hours....
And they hope to accomplish WHAT with this silly ban?
If they couple it with ending violence and denigration of women on their cable channels, then yes, I would be happy - but they WILL NOT.
When these folks cancel any movie or show that features guns..I’ll take them seriously.
Of course, that would destroy their programming line-up. All they could show would be Leave It To Beaver-athons.
Which might not be too bad.
Thanks, that’s really disturbing...
I've seen Henry repeating rifle ads (one is pretty entertaining), but I can't recall any ammo ads (maybe I should be watching another channel.)
.
Whenever the COMMIIEEcast telemarketers call me, I ask them who they are, they say: “This is Comcast.” My immediate response is: “Oh, you’re that Constitution Hating bunch, wouldn’t do business with you for any reason.”
I get chokes, coughs, stutters, then I lay it on, “Why do your dumba$$ execs have a problem with the 2nd?”
Then I bang down the phone. I KNOW it gets back to corporate.
I researched that a bit when I saw it on tv here. I called the local station (over the air tv) and told them how much I didn’t appreciate it. It was “originally” set to air only in “certain” markets. Whatever. Kindle is off the list.
Any wonder MSNBC gets away with disparaging more than half the Country on a continual basis?
Go satellite.
Will they ban Hollywood movies with weapons. The only thing they’ll have left is gay TV.
