My family loved that era and song as well. I was a Dallas Cowboy fan (Traitor! I know). Just to tease me my father would “Bomp, da bomp, da bomp, ‘cause we’re the Houston Oilers....etc.” I made a song of my own which I will not share here, heh.

Interestingly enough, the Miami Dolphins also use that same tune. Heard it when I lived in FL.

It follows me.

What a brat! :P Sounds like you and your family had a lot of fun around football. I think it’s delicious karma that the song followed you to Florida. ROFL.

The Oilers ripped it off from the Dolphins, and the first time they used it was on a Monday Night game against the Dolphins, when Earl Campbell went nuts.
