STEUBENVILLE - Jefferson County Prosecutor Jane Hanlin and her family had to leave town during the juvenile rape trial because of threats made against both her and her family.
Sunday evening, Hanlin confirmed that threats had been made, and she found them to be credible. Hanlin said there were instances of threats before, but the number of threats of a specific nature grew.
"As the trial date grew closer, we received a number of them that seemed to be more credible than others," Hanlin said.
The picture I saw posted of the girl being dragged around like a rag doll by two boys (yep, she was out like a fried light bulb) makes it seem not just possible, but likely. To get catatonic like that takes one heck of a lot of alcohol, or some kind of knock out drug.
We can't 100% know, but that picture is fairly convincing.
You do realize it’s against the law in most states to continue serving alcohol to an intoxicated person?
Once intoxicated, the person cannot give consent to continue drinking - just like a ten year old cannot legally consent to sex, even if s/he says “yes.”
Google "bukake."
But my question is that since the girl was 16, does this not also count as a statutory rape?
My understanding is the defendants were also minors.
What percentage do you advocate for admissibility in court?
There’s a huge amount of information that’s known but not reported by the MSM.

In my youth, I've seen more passed out drunks than I'd care to admit. Some were girls and women. Luckily for them I was a different football player than these people. Usually what we did to a passed out drunk was take a magic marker and draw something on the person's face. Our crowd was rowdy, but we didn't take advantage of girls and women. That's a line we didn't cross.

I haven't read enough about this case to be knowledgeable of all the particulars. But one question. Wasn't the charge listed as rape via digital penetration?
But since you have proved your own idiocy by claiming she shouldn't be considered a victim, or that this is nothing more than the outcome of a cabal of feminist journalists defaming these innocent boys, why don't you make some other dumb comments on that photograph of her being dragged around like a rag doll (or a stuffed papertyger)?
I've seen it, usually with the underage(18). It wouldn't surprise me come to think of it if it did happen. The perps got the worse conviction, not the "lesser" charge, also a felony.
Yeah. Counts the same under Ohio law.
I question the term "information" when the link gives accolades to "...the thousands of people -- from Anonymous to Roseanne -- who rallied to this young woman's defense...."
I grew up near Steubenville and played for a rival high school a few miles away. I can tell you that, even in the early 80s when there were still a lot of jobs at the mills, high school football was crazy. When we played (Steubenville HS) Big Red, always at their stadium, there would be 10k people there. We'd have to dress in our own locker room and ride the bus with our pads and helmets on because people would throw rocks at us on our way to and from the game. Mays's father was our QB when I was a freshman. My parents always said that if you can say anything nice about someone, don't say anything.
Oh yeah, his grandfather was our QB coach. Same policy applies to him.
Nice recovery!
" Thousands of people -- from Anonymous to Roseanne..." would be proud of you.
Did I read it wrong, didn't the two perps only get six months and one year respectively? I realize they got a felony conviction, but that sentence seems a little on the light side to me.
Put up or shut up, troll.
You, on the other hand might never recover from your own stupidity........
That smells. Sounds like the mafia may still be active in that area. Nearby Youngstown was known for it.
They were convicted as a juvenile.
nope.
ALl the cursing and nudity detract from the story. The story is what they are avoiding because they have no creativity
