At CPAC, Pat Caddell called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “the Ambrose Burnside of American politics.” Burnside was the commander of the Union’s Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. He was dismissed by Lincoln for his inability to press his advantage against the enemy, his plodding and unimaginative strategies, and his inability to focus resources on the tactics needed for victory.
Caddell makes a good analogy. It’s justification for getting rid of him as Minority Leader. But falls way short of replacing him with Ashley Judd.
“At CPAC, Pat Caddell called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) the Ambrose Burnside of American politics.”
Yeah, it took Pat Caddell, the guy who ran Jimmah’s campaign, to point out that this guy is a worthless POS! And all those “revelations” about GOPe “political consultants” was spot on as well. Good for Pat. Even he doesn’t like the RATs today, and seems to care more about the country than most of the GOP “leaders” do!
Lincoln wrote to Burnside, “My dear General, if you are not going to use the Army, I should like to borrow it for awhile.”
McConnell defeated by Ashley Judd. It doesn’t sound so laughable now. Of course, there’d be all that seniority gone.
