That statement is of course a bit of hyperbole. However it is meant to underscore a few observation. Under Obama the JCOS seem to behave as politically correct careerists out to serve their perceived whims of the current administration. For example the JCOS “recommended” to the Sec of Defense that all combat roles be open to women, or that the Commander of US forces in Afghanistan when confronted with the murder of his troops by their Afghan “allies” comes out with a manual that American soldiers must become more accepting and sensitive to the homosexual practices of Afghans to prevent misunderstandings. These senior generals and admirals seem to be adept politically shooled careerists rather than warriors. The Chinese in the 1990’s developed the best shore to ship missile system in order to keep the Taiwan Strait clear of hostile capital ships in the event of war with the ROC. That has always been a prime objective and strategic concern to China. There is no doubt the Chinese (who despise American presence, influence and meddling in Asia) have been aiding Iran.Iran did not down and capture that drone on its own. Iran has such confidence about its ability to close the Gulf, there is little doubt they have been armed with these missiles. And yes, do not put it passed the arrogance and of the Obama administration to put those ships in harms way. History is full of such ploys and tragic blunders. And yes it would be a bit archaic to expect today’s senior officer careerists to have a few principled resignations before the actual orders sending those ships into the Gulf were tendered. And yes certainly hope these “observations” are all wrong.
