Note that giving a social security number is “optional”,
so no-one will every know whether you are listed as a
dependent on the family filing, or on your tax return.

And dependent coverage will be cheaper than primary coverage, so why not aggregate all of your cousins into one “family application” to save your brothers and sisters some serious quid.

Actually, that was only for the first section. Later in the form, you have to give your SSN or documentation that proves you haven't been assigned one...yet.

They also say, at the beginning, that this 'insurance' is free, or you might possibly be paying some. Near the end, it says YOU WILL BE PAYING.

Which should be rather obvious, since we are paying for it, no matter what. Our government is in debt. They don't have the money for this, they plan on getting THAT from us, then billing us for additional bureaucratic costs.
