Yes, SFPD would use all their resources to search your home for what they consider contraband, (like cash, guns, jewelry) and they would confiscate said "contraband" in the hopes you can't get to a reasonable judge within ten days.

Police carry/are armed for self-protection not yours. Police are under NO legal obligation to protect you or your property. They exist solely to enforce the laws. If within that enforcement duty they happen to protect you and yours then that would be a ‘benefit’. The police wanted that weapon returned mainly for THEIR protection and not necessarily the public’s. In the instance your property is stolen, no PAPER resources would be spared.
