DST wasn’t the cause ~ but never mind, we need to do it twice. An hour toward the end of winter, and another hour in early June ~ that way you’d get off in the heat of the afternoon.

DST destroyed the drive in movie industry.

VHS rentals and cable TV, followed by DVDs and Netflix, destroyed the drive-in movie industry.

DST destroyed the drive in movie industry..

Perhaps one factor of many. I find it difficult to believe that driveins would be a robust commercial entity these days in the absence of DST.

How come it flourished from the 50’s to the 80’s?

You pick the wrong arrow.

Why do people only complain about DST in the spring?

“DST destroyed the drive in movie industry.”

Air conditioning killed the drive in movie industry.
It killed camping too.

There’s a bill in MO to leap forward one more time and then stay there - making DST the new standard time and not changing anymore. It won’t take affect unless 25 (if I remember right) other states pass it as well - and supposedly there are other states thinking about it/putting bills together.

DST destroyed the drive in movie industry.

B.S. The movie industry and technology destroyed the drive-in movie industry.

Make no mistake, I enjoyed going to the drive-in movies when I was a teenager, because it was one of the few opportunities to be alone in a confined space with a chick.

Now, one can do that in their own space.

The last time I went to a drive-in movie was 1970 and the last time I went to an indoor movie theatre was 1982.

DST destroyed the drive in movie industry.

I thought those pesky attendants carrying flashlights destroyed the drive-in-movie industry...

What BS. We have had DST since the 1930's. The drive-in movie industry didn't even really get going until the fifties.

As for "health" consequences, bunk. Ask leading questions of enough suggestible people and you can get any answer you want.
