Marylands Senate voted on Wednesday to repeal the states death penalty, putting it on a path to becoming the 18th state to abolish executions.
Marylands last execution was in 2005.

If that is repealed the murder rate of Baltimore City will spread throughout the rest of the state.

Another sad, but not unexpected, day for MD.
Whew, at least gun-owners won’t be getting hung under this and the gun confiscation laws.
Unless they build in an exemption.

I have lived here all my life. My Family has been here for since the Ark and the Dove.I am related to the Carroll’s of Carrollton. My family is here, my kids,and yet I am ashamed of what has happened to this state under the political leadership of the Democrat party.
Just this past year: Same Sex Marriage,Repeal of the Death penalty, Gun Bills everywhere, legalised gambling, taxes up to the ying-yang, Casa De Maryland.
It is getting about time to think of moving on.

And here I thought the first states of 2013 to overturn their death penalty would be Washington (win), Oregon (place), and Pennsylvania (show). Just goes to show you never know ...
