From one of the comments at the site:

The article says Coy was born a boy. Genetically and outwardly Coy is male. But inside, mentally and most likely physically (with brain structure), Coy is a girl. That is what transgendered is: you are genetically one gender, but feel completely as the other gender. They are *not* hermaphrodites - they have fully formed sexual organs for their genetic gender. But some studies have shown that the brain structure is that of the opposite gender, leading to the person feeling as if they were born the wrong gender.

I'm not a doctor, and frankly don't know anything about it. I'm just thinking out loud. What if in rare instances there are people whose brain structure is so opposite that they simply are never going to accept being their biological gender? Like the various kinds of people I mentioned before, or like (as some others have mentioned) people born with both sets of organs?

What does one do then?

I can't presume to know the right thing to do, but I certainly can figure out the positively wrong thing to do...

make a national federal case out of it!

What does one do then?

One comes to a Christian based web site and presents a moral dilemma in order to present their true agenda.

I don't buy it, period. Just out of curiosity--do you have kids? I have three boys, and I am around toddlers frequently. I have yet to meet a single 18-month old that can identify gender beyond hairstyle and color-coded clothing. I refuse to believe that such an 18-month old exists--this is parental imprinting, and it is tantamount to mental and emotional abuse. What you have cited from the article, "But inside, mentally and most likely physically (with brain structure), Coy is a girl" is drivel. Take the second first--"most likely" physically, based upon what? Is this brain structure unchanged from birth, or structure that has evolved in early childhood from external pressures? None of us is born with modesty, but early in our lives we are conditioned to wear clothing--and I wouldn't be surprised if there is some physical evidence of that. But it is NOT behavior we are born with. And "mentally" a girl? Again, no. Not in an 18 month old. This is nothing more than parents imprinting their desires upon their child, encouraging what began as simple childhood imagination (if the child's confusion ever existed at all, which I doubt).

The “brain structure” crap is non-scientific crap, just as the claim that homosexuals had brain differences was crap and the homoagenda pushers had to admit that later.
