A new driver's license expected to be issued to some illegal immigrants in North Carolina has prompted state lawmakers and immigrant rights groups to voice concerns over the proposal.
The proposed North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles license has a bright pink stripe and the bold words "NO LAWFUL STATUS."

Usually the Secret Service will have nicknames, acronyms for high-level politicians for easy, convenient ways to make reference to them. POTUS usually refers to the president. During the two presidential campaigns of Jesse Jackson the New York Times reported that the Secret Service name for Mr. Jackson was PONTIAC, as in "Poor Old Negro Thinks It's a Cadillac". Okay, I admit the 'N' didn't exactly stand for Negro.
Well, I thought an easier, quicker way to convey you're talking about the president would be 'NLS'. No Legal Status. Yes, the 'NLS' just went into the men's room or the NLS just emerged from his ponti.., uh, his presidential limousine.
Why are we providing official identification for criminals?
It’s not where the photo is taken, but on which website it appears, when considering copyright. And please note that transferring it to Photobucket doesn’t make a difference.
Thanks for your comments. Yes, I was aware of that. And I am astute enough to realize that posting it at Photobucket doesn’t change its legal status. Another thing that I became aware of that has changed my posting habits is not posting images taken from videos that appear at the article. I’ve been doing that for a very long time as a way of enhancing the post, never thought of it as a copyright issue, but then last week, when the picture of a video I posted was removed, I realized that an image of a copyrighted video is copyrighted as well, and so stopped that practice.
Thanks again for your comments.
Heaven forbid an illegal might be embarassed with a pink stripe. Put the designer of this horrid insult in jail. /S
How about “Danger! Uninsured Illegal!”?
I am surprised that they are not equating it to the yelllow Star of David with JUDE written in the center.
That that are even considering offering ID to criminal aliens is the stuff of the twilight zone.
How nice of them to say it sparks concern. Yada, Yada, Yada.
Getting legal driving status isn’t enough. They want in on the design of the license.
Well, If you need glasses your photo has them on you. If you have other restrictions the background color is different.
How about this?
Their photo behind bars?
The one advantage of licensing them is NC DMV requires proof of insurance to get one.
And the parents cause plenty accidents around here.
The license is only for children of illegals brought over here by their parents some years earlier.
The biggest concern with issuing them a driver’s license without any designation on it would be that they can use that license to VOTE!
Motor Democrat Voter is what these licenses for illegals are all about, anyway. North Carolina is infested with progressive useful-idiots and their closet-Stalinist masters. I’m not sure why this is more true than in SC, but it is.
The biggest concern with issuing them a driver’s license without any designation on it would be that they can use that license to VOTE!
How about “Ceci n’est pas une license”?
What do they do for people who want a driver’s license but don’t own a car? Is there a non-owner’s insurance policy required?
When my daughter wanted to do that back in the 90’s she couldn’t. I could have added her to my policy but refused. ( another story)
Best she could get was an ID.
No insurance, no license.
May have changed since then though.
For anyone unsure whether to call these people “illegal aliens” or “undocumented residents”, the “NO LEGAL STATUS” designation gives them an out: they’re now “documented illegal resident aliens”.
That ought to be enough to bother the snot out of La Raza.
I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of that! I love to dabble in graphics, post my own pictures. You did a great job! You’re definitely a FReeper Keeper!
