I didn't see a reference to Chinese involvement in this Obama idol, only that the Chinese were brought in initially to set up "Ice City" in February of 2012.
The Obama idol is "custom built" so I would think (but ya never know) that it is something crafted especially for this occasion, not that it has been there all along. I sure wouldn't be surprised, though!
