Cue teh ‘Poooooor Dorner’ cries.
Deadly force is authorized against someone using deadly force.
Nerf bats and wiffle balls don’t convince badguys to surrender.
And Dorner said he wasn’t going to surrender OR be taken in alive.
He intended to die.
Exactly.
Question: How many of the bleeding hearts would have risked their lives to coax Dorner out peacefully?
Answer: None.
I don’t think anyone here has any sympathy for Dorner, but he did goad them into shooting a couple of the wrong people, swarming the wrong locations, risking the lives of others, and then burning down someone else’s property. They were on the very margin of professionalism in handling this.
To bad we haven’t learned that lesson in Iraq and Afstan.
But in general, firing incendiary tear gas is a deliberate decision to burn a house to the ground, with anybody inside grilled alive. (There are "cold" tear gas grenades that won't start fires.)
And firing in the incendiaries sure does get rid of any evidence....one way or the other.
I'm not condemning incendiary tear gas grenade use per se. But we need to watch out for this intentional police arson of a dwelling and its inhabitants being used against future "tea party terrorists" who "refuse to comply with firearms inspection laws" or whatnot.
"We gave that radical right wing terrorist ten minutes to come out, so we could inspect his gun safe. He refused. We didn't want to risk any police officers' lives, so we fired in the tear gas. As consequence of that decision, the radical right winger was unfortunately burned along with his family, his house and his possessions. Let this be a lesson to other gun nuts! There will be zero tolerance..."
Etc.
He did? What reliable source did you get that info from? And when I say reliable, it immediately invalidates any Government source and any source wherein the people imparting the info are associated with any Main Stream Media.
And I'm not saying its false But these sources lie constantly and can't be trusted so just because they say it is so doesn't mean anyone should automatically believe it.
