War crimes are imposed by the winner against the loser.

Germans were losers.

The Germans had no compunction against targeting civilian populations.

The RAF bombers who carried out the attack were patriots who did their duty.

Comments like yours makes me think we were far too merciful.

When we dropped atomic bombs on Japan it was mostly civilians that died and there was not a great deal of military targets in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki areas. This was a terror bombing and it worked and it worked well. They surrendered after the second bomb. We made it clear to the Japanese that we had the ability and will to systematically erase their people and culture and nation.

THEY SURREDERED!!!!!!!!! and saved an estimated million casualites if we had to invade Japan. It is estimated that we would have lost 100,000 lives in an invasion. The Japaneses would have lost millions mostly to disease and starvation as we would have systematically removed their ability to feed and care for their people.
