Sarah Palin tries to stay relevant (WaPo falls for internet hoax)
Washington Post ^ | February 12, 2013 | Suzi Parker

Posted on 02/12/2013 8:32:45 AM PST by rightwingintelligentsia

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post incorrectly reported that Sarah Palin planned to contribute to the Al Jazeera America news network. The erroneous report was based on a fictionalized story in The Daily Currant, a news satire Web site.

The Sarah Palin Story is a cautionary tale about what can happen when politics and celebrity meet.

Fox News and their once-upon-a-time darling Palin recently parted ways after three years. But it appears that Palin is still trying to find ways to stay relevant while her 15 minutes fades into the political history books.

On Monday morning, Palin posted a message via Facebook that she and her husband, Todd, planned to attend Monday’s memorial service for slain Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle. After the service, she wrote on her page, “It was a beautiful memorial service for Chris Kyle at Cowboys Stadium this afternoon. What a celebration of a great life! All in all, is there a finer human being who has crossed the 50-yard line star in Texas than Chris Kyle?” She then linked to a way to honor Kyle. She also thanked her followers for recent birthday wishes.

If you look at the link, the original title to this story was "Sarah Palin's Plan to Reach Millions of Devoutly Religious People Through Al-Jazeera." That was before they discovered the article they based it on was a satire/hoax.

The real title to this article should be: "Stupid Dinosaur Media Tries to Stay Relevant."

Any so called adult who uses a cutesy child’s name for her so called professional world, is too stupid and infantile to be taken seriously.

Hey Suzi-q, go back to high school were you belong, no one cares about your classroom cut ups of people who are your betters.

This reminds me of when that idiot Matt Damon said he was deeply concerned that Sarah Palin thought dinosaurs roamed the Earth 6000 years ago. He had read it on some left-wing blog and it was Satire, but he was too stupid to know that.

Classic media pavlovian response. They’ll bite at anything that diminishes Palin’s influence in the public square.

Which is great because if she is so inclined she can keep them running round and round in circles chasing their own tails for years on end.

Palin is well aware that dinos still roam the Earth, just not as much of it as they did 1000 years ago.

Palin defines relevence, and has no need to seek it.

Back in the day if the WaPo had picked up as fact something out of, say, Mad Magazine, they would have cleared the newsroom. Every last one of them would have been fired.

Today it’s just “oops, our bad, sorry!”
