Mussolini was a top leader of the Italian socialist party. Socialists were anti-war (capitalist war, that is, they were pro-civil wars), anti-capitalist (ie freedom) and anti-nationalist (ie anti-Italian). There is a limited appeal to these beliefs. Mussolini changed from pro-civil war to pro-foreign war and anti-Italian to pro-Italian and swept into power and stayed there for 20 years.

Fascism is the logical result of failed international socialism. And what's the EU if not failed international socialism. Hell, even the EU is getting in the foreign war game by backing France in Mali.

True. Also true is the fact that both Mussolini and Hitler were revered by American Progressives right up until the point that Hitler turned on Stalin.
