Like when they confiscated the SKSes???
Did they? I still have one?
True. It was a Republican who, first gave his word he would not confiscate the SKSs, then when it came time for election he turned his back on his promise and demanded SKS owners turn in their weapons.
It wouldn't be the first time a supposedly conservative Republican lawmaker turned against their conservative constituents.
I seem to remember a good ol' boy from Tennessee who was holding hearings on Chinagate, (read: Sen. Fred Thompson (R-TN) "investigating" Bill Clinton's espionage) then rolled over and shut down the hearings when the heat was turned up.
Then, when it came time to vote for conviction during Clinton's impeachment trial, good ol' boy, Fred Thompson voted against the conviction.
I guess California has no monopoly on traitors in office, do they?
Registration Means Confiscation in California & Connecticut:
...During his run for Governor in 1997, Former (Republican) Attorney General Dan Lungren reversed his own earlier decision about the SKS Sporter. Bowing to political pressure, he declared them illegal, thus demonstrating that the trust of SKS owners was misplaced...
...The California DOJ has admitted they have records, they know who own these firearms through the registration process, and have ordered seizure and/or prosecution by law enforcement agencies throughout the State.
