I have three words....Senator Tammy Baldwin.
Rove put his stamp of approval on the doddering Tommy Thompson, helping him defeat Eric Hovde in the primary. Hovde would have made mincemeat of Baldwin, but he was determined to be "too risky and unproven".

How the hell did Thompson lose to "It's Pat?"
We had our own Thompson style candidacy here in Pete Hoekstra. What was supposed to be close turned into a blowout for Debbie Stab-me-now.
