Is there a certain ambigity about definitions? The author is calling the Faith and Freedom Coalition (Reed), Focus on the Family (Minnery), Liberty University (Staver) and the Southern Baptist Convention (Land) examples of “Religious Right,” and identifying keeping families together, reforming the visa system and securing the border as goals of “immigration reform.”
Well the Southern Baptists are the most Christian right of the Christian right, which is the most right of all the right, but I didn’t see much of anything of substance in the article to prove that the conservative base has embraced immigration, at least from the left’s perspective.
I’ll wait for better articles before I get too excited.
