Tea party favorite Paul Broun, who has served in the House of Representatives since 2007, is expected to announce a run to take Saxby Chambliss seat in the U.S. Senate.
He is due to make a formal announcement Wednesday afternoon at Atlantas Grand Hyatt Hotel. Chambliss announced last month that he will not run for a third term, after tea party threats that the group would put up candidates to run against him in a Republican primary.
Since getting to Congress, Broun, 66, a general practice physician, has been an outspoken critic of many current federal policies. For example, he has criticized President Barack Obamas administration for what he calls stifling the private sector with regulation.
Examples of government overreach can be seen across the Obama Administration. Obamacare came with thousands of pages of job-crushing regulations. It also has been estimated that new regulations from the Obama EPA will kill more than 7 million jobs. In manufacturing alone it already costs over $10,000 per employee just to comply with the confusing and onerous rules, he wrote in a recent release.
He also criticized President Obamas first stimulus program, saying it was 6.7 million jobs behind projections.
Despite the tax credits, state aid, and unemployment assistance in Stimulus I, America still sits above 9 percent unemployment. That means 14 million people who were promised that President Obamas $1 trillion stimulus would provide them with jobs remain out of work, Broun said. The promise of government-fueled job creation has proven an abject failure. A perfect example of this is Solyndra, a company that received a stimulus-backed $535 million dollar loan, despite auditor warnings, and recently went bankrupt.

ME TOO!!! Cruz is the best Senator Texas has ever elected.
The senate is where the real firewall has been erected.
Thank You Lord!!
Now if we can just get Johnny to retire as well. (I know, I know. I shouldn’t be greed, sighs.)
Tatt
There are possibly 11 people going to run for this seat including Tom Price, Karen Handel and Paul Broun. Any of these 3 would be fine with me.
Then, hopefully he'll know not to blurt out election-losing statements about rape.
Go for it, Paul!!!
Plenty of solid folks down here to fill your vacated House seat!
