You remind me of the HL Mencken essay “The Malevolent Jobholder,” wherein he advises a system whereby citizen be allowed to kill government officials so long as they can show cause before a jury afterwards. It was well dramatized in the libertarian sci-fi classic “Lone Star Planet.” I see it as a useful suggestion.
I’d have more confidence in the survival of our republic if, like the founding fathers, our current leaders had spent some time bound with a cable tow and half shod.
