I knew a guy in this same boat... about my age, nominally a Christian, with a wife and three children (one of whom was adopted). Got hormones followed by surgery and now insists that his name is Jennifer. His wife kicked him out because she wasn't interested in lesbianism. Now the youngest of the kids has attachment disorder and the middle child has been telling everyone he's gay. Oldest child seems normal, but then so did "Jennifer" at that age. Wife is struggling hard, as you might imagine.

None of this seems to make much of an impression on the former dad, who is convinced that this was the only course his life could have taken.

How sad :(

Somehow our culture has reached a point where one’s “sexuality” is the most important characteristic. Instead of looking at this with reason, what will be the most beneficial to all involved, people are encouraged to be selfish. Modern psychiatry tells them to embrace any and all ideas of sexual identity.

I find it difficult to understand how somebody could be an unselfish, loving, father but then make such a selfish decision. What does somebody *gain* by this? Unreal.
