“Or is your charity, like your money, your great looks, your motorhome and your GOD just more dribblin’ b.s. running out of your mouth?”

Not BS, but tongue in cheek. However, the wife and I have taken homeless people into our home from time to time. They have always been families though... Never a problem, they are not all crazy and even the crazy ones are mostly harmless.

babygene, with all due respect, I don’t think you are familiar with the types of homeless that inhabit Grand Central and the NYC subway system. And I strongly doubt you would invite even one of them into your home. It would be putting yourself, your wife and family in danger.

They are truly the wretched of the earth. You look at them and wonder what their story is, how did they get there. If we knew the answer it would most likely involve drugs and excessive use of alcohol. It’s very sad. But for them, certainly most of them, there is no going back to a ‘normal’ life. Their minds and any pride they may once have had is gone. They will die in the subway tunnels or on the street grates, and be buried in a Potter’s Field.

My apologies.

I really did not catch your wit, and I should have dug a little deeper.

The holier-than-thou types who feel oh-so-sorry about the homeless while riding in their limos to the network set (why do Chris Matthews and Mika Brzezinski come suddenly to mind?) were the ones I was lashing out at.

Thanks for setting me straight and, again, my apologies.
