I am an Eagle Scout, class of 1968. After 40 years of not participating in Scouting activities, last November I offered my services as a merit badge counselor to the local council for the first time. If the BSA changes its position on this issue, it will become the last time. Boy Scouts are pubescent and post-pubescent; most of them are already men physically. I would not want a heterosexual male camping with my teenage daughter; I will not support a homosexual male camping with teenage sons.
Eagle Scout (1969), 12 years as a Scouter, consistent contributor to the local Council: All to be undone if this decision is made.
No more contributions.
Scouter uniform will be packed away.
Eagle metal will be returned to BSA National.
I have a very heavy heart over this.
