Excellent post. Isn’t that state of affairs called “cognitive dissonance”?
I don’t think so, because cognitive dissonance implies a personal conflict, and while many liberals are filled with the deepest personal conflicts and neuroses, their weird political ideas are rigidly believed and enforced among themselves.
For example, why they purged any pro-life and moderate Democrats from the party; and how, during the Clinton years, all the Democrats who spoke in public followed an identical script, one that was so inflexible that someone actually figured out the practiced checklist they used. (I wish I had kept that analysis.)
That is, they stopped giving independent opinion and just recited what they had been told to recite. And they would not stray from the script. Which is downright scary.
