According to the radio reporter at the scene the school is surrounded by dozens of parents trying to get their kids and the school won’t release them. Might get ugly.
It would if I was one of those parents
My son’s school was in lock down once, and I was lied to about it. It happened exactly at pick up time, and the school was locked down, parents locked out- no one to answer the phone and no one had any idea of what was going on.
Then when I finally saw my son, he told me that they were late because they had to pass out report cards.
Then I found out he was taken into the auditorium with the entire school and told, by the principal, not to talk to parents or the press about what had happened with lock down.
Then I found out they had found a kid selling pot in the locker room from another parent. When I talked to the principal about the POV of the parent waiting for the children to come out and facing a locked building, she told me that the school was NOT locked. That was her answer to everything.
It was a total farce and I was so pissed off.
I wouldn’t trust any public school employee about a single thing.
