The Boy Scouts of America is considering dropping a longtime ban on gay members, according to a spokesman.
“The BSA is discussing potentially removing the national membership restriction regarding sexual orientation,'' spokesman Deron Smith said in a statement obtained by FoxNews.com. "This would mean there would no longer be any national policy regarding sexual orientation, but that the chartered organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with their organization’s mission, principles or religious beliefs."
I donated a few $$$ for 2012 but they will see nothing in 2013 if they do this.

Wayne Brock is the Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America, having assumed the BSA's highest professional position in September 2012. He had previously served as Deputy Chief Scout Executive since October 1, 2009. His predecessor was Robert J. Mazzuca (born 1947) who was the 11th Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America. His term started in 2007, and he retired on August 31, 2012.
Speculation among volunteers is that Mazzuca saw the handwriting on the wall and got out while he could.
The other major contributing issue is all of the corporate CEOs serving on the national (volunteer) executive board. If you haven't noticed, diversity/LGBTQ rights has completely penetrated corporate America's human resources departments which results in the re-writing of charitable giving rules against organizations which discriminate for whatever reason.
The national council in Irving, TX, has lots of costs which have to be funded. The local councils don't contribute to those usual expenses, e.g., ...
1. payroll
2. benefits
3. real properties, especially the national high adventure bases
4. program support of printed materials - the real core of BSA
It is quid pro quo, BSA gets $$$ from the corporations and the national board of directors get input into the operations of the BSA.

I am glad I became an Eagle Scout at a time when it still meant something.
Pedophiles are people who are too insecure to relate to other adults. There are adult male gay and straight pedophiles, and there are adult gay and straight men who only want an adult male or female sexually.
In all reality there will be very few. Most of the scouts are chartered by religious organizations. The Mormons and Catholics are dominant in the charter. Those of TEC would probably allow for pederasts as they are OK with them as priests and bishops.
Once the parent delegates morality to the child, the child loses all morality.
If they decide at the top to let local sponsors decide,
then it’s only a matter of time before all units are forced to prove they are being fair to gays.
Scouting will be just as dead as our nation in a matter of months to a few years.
The goal is no doubt to destroy Scouting because the men who were Scouts have been real leaders of the nation.
Acceptance of homsexuals on any Scouting board was a horrible mistake.
And the BSA should never have even tried to cover up any molestation but pressed for prosecution and civil penalties.
Only by firmly and publically showing their determination that Scouting be safe could they have avoided damaging lawsuits. By doing even a little coverup the organization took on itself guilt for the crimes of the perverts.

I no longer buy Girl Scout cookies because of that organization’s policies and teachings.
It is bad enough my tax money funds so much anti-family,anti-God,anti-American activity;at least I won’t voluntarily support similar activity.
It might behoove all who care about the organization to examine how directors are selected, and replace the offending members of that board.
For that matter, any who so much as waver should be strongly considered for removal. In this instance, leadership begins at the top as well.
That and the United Way. Stopped giving to them period, when the funds could not longer be directed to the local Boy Scout Council, by their own rule (later stated because of “exclusionary practices”— really.
Was a member of Executive Bd. of Directors for a BSA Council, and candidly, we had to deal with furtive fruits several times-one arrested for cruising bathrooms at a rural park.
One wonders what this decision, should it happen, would mean for a Scouting leader who has a sexual molestation background upon checking. Is he now OK to be around young boys? I think not.
The purpose of this push by the homo agenda is to destroy the Boy Scouts, and to destroy the ethics, the knowledge (merit badges) and the comradery of normally developing young males who would and have grown up to be leaders of this nation.
Along with this agenda is the agenda of the media to “make as truth” whether Lord Baden-Powell (the founder of Scouting) was homo or bi-sexual, or at minimum repressed homo (because uh, everybody is according to the toots in the media). Everybody in a distinct minority (one composed of a lifestyle choice and/or a mental disorder— I don’t care what the psychiatrists say, cause they are even more screwed up) is demanding the rest of society accept their behaviour as normal, when it really is not.
This is very troubling news. And one more example of the marxist agenda (family breakup, and destruction of morals or religion based morality).
What will it take- the maomau in WH being caught with a live boy... or a dead girl (less likely)when he isn’t out shooting skeet “all the time” (LOL).
I am not about to pull a john kerry and throw my awards away either. But, this perversion would keep my kids away if there was a leader in their troop that was out.
The organization will be committing suicide. Scouts Canada is a shell of its former self. And how did their appeasement of homosexuals affect the boys who were entrusted to their care? Predatory homosexuals used the Scouts as their hunting ground. The leaders did nothing because they feared being accused of “homophobia”. And now the media is shocked, shocked, that boys were abused. They allege the perpetrators are pedophile’s, when the truth is the vast majority are homosexual pederasts following their usual modus operandi. The US Scouting movement is about to sacrifice your kids on the altar of political correctness and will end up just destroying themselves. So tragic. So predictable.

The BSA that my son is an assistant scoutmaster of has become a weenie version of the BSA that existed when my oldest boy first joined.
the mothers seem to run the show both at the troop level and at the district level. the safety rules are completely out of control and the kids are coddled and babied.
the whole self assuredness that the kids get from roughing it has gone and I am not surprised to hear that the bone smugglers may soon have a place.
