There was an 1854 Lefaucheux pinfire pistol carbine on display, as well as an 1876 .22-caliber derringer in a glass box. But neither was for sale.
It wouldn't have mattered if they were. The gun enthusiasts who showed up in Rosemont on Friday for what was billed as the first-ever Chicagoland Gun Show didn't seem interested in gawking at antique pistols. Some wanted to buy high-powered rifles, semi-automatic handguns and high-capacity magazines.
But there wasn't a single gun dealer at the show, only a Chicago collector who said he was there to show off his collection.
"I've been to a lot of gun shows, and this is not a gun show, no matter what they call it," said Kevin Olandese, 37, of Schaumburg.
Within an hour of the Friday afternoon opening of the three-day event at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, people who had paid $10 for advance tickets online and $12 at the door were asking for their money back.
Marc Levine, a sales executive for Outdoor Sports Group, which organized the show, quickly obliged.
"The last thing I want to do is for a guy to go to his car and come back shooting," said Levine

What a phoney baloney. Well in Chitcago or New Yuck something like this, these museum pieces would pass for their idea of a “civilized gun show.”

In other words “Here’s what you used to be able to own in America, right there behind that pane of glass. Don’t get too close, now move along”.

This proceeded exactly according to "The Plan."
Have a non-gun "Gun Show."
Have a spokesperson making comments about some disgruntled (love that word) "gun-nut getting angry and going to his car and getting his gun(s) and coming back to shoot-up the place.
Everyone knows about Chicago "gun control." This just further separates the populace.
Exactly according to "The Plan."

Another thing - remember that talk about a "Tax" on ammunition?
Look at the prices mentioned in the article. Who needs a 'Tax' when you can create a scarcity and drive prices thru the roof.
Self-fulfilling with out the legislation. Just like the actions against gun dealers by banks.
Kind of reminds me of a sub-rosa Executive Order.

Let’s see, we have one of the most lucrative industries in the land and banks get persuaded to turn their nose up at it.
Makes sense eh! /s

Could be that dealers who are all sold out have nothing to display at a show.

From the article: "We do have guns here, they're just 100 years old, and you can't find any gunpowder for them."
Maybe not in Chicago, but you can found powder for them in most other places in the U.S. Sounds like he knows very little about guns.
