Riiight. That'll last about 15 seconds. Having lived under several regimes of dual-standard, affirmative-action chicanery, I feel well qualified when I say that once you accept the arguement that social justice goals trump reality, you cannot adhere to a high standard for all. Either you drop standards for some, creating a two-tier regime that engenders contempt and hostility, or you drop standards for all, dramatically lowering the effectiveness of the whole organizationm.
Obviously the DOD has bought into the social justice priority. This will lead to an inevitable and ultimately devastating degradation of the whole force.
If I had a child, I would stongly counsel them to forget any notion of serving in this military. Sorry kids, but we done lost the culture war. All that remains is for us to lose the real one, and I fear that is all but inevitable.
