Senate hearing: 9:00a.m. EST. House hearing: 2:00 p.m. EST
Watch live here. Also on C-SPAN 3.
In her first testimony since the Benghazi attack, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will participate in a full day of hearings Wednesday about U.S. diplomatic security and the American mission in Libya.
Sec. Clinton will appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the morning followed by an afternoon testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. In December, the State Department's highest ranking foreign service officers, William Burns and Thomas Nides, testified before Congressional lawmakers in the Secretary's place. They discussed a new report by an independent panel assessing the Benghazi attack.
Deputy Sec. Nides put several recommendations from a report on the attack into effect before the end of 2012. Implementing the rest, Nides said, will be underway by the time the next Secretary of State takes office. Three State Department officials have resigned since the report was released.
The two officials were substituting for Secretary Clinton, who was recovering from a concussion she suffered after fainting due to dehydration from a stomach virus.
Four Americans were killed in that attack, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens. Congress is investigating whether the State Department denied a request for extra security at that outpost earlier in the year and what actions were taken in the moments after the attack began.
Ohhhhh......Durbin just envoked the ghost of Iraq weapons of mass destruction and Bush....
Then he goes back to petting the she demon...
He just blamed the House of Rep for defunding projects that would have protected the diplomats, setting the House up before their afternoon questions...

Dirtbag Durbin BS’ing on WMD’s.... they went to Syria, you lying a-hole! But you already knew that, didn’t you?
mccain walked her right into being able to blame the HOUSE for Libya’s lack of stability after gaddafy. OMG! I HATE these people!!!
I concur. I despise that thug.
He’s from the right state.
Last I heard she was “crying.” Those darn panel meanies.
And just which approved and passed budgets did those decreases take place in, dickie???
I do, too, sweet MM.
They’re all loathsome.
The road to hell is paved with democrats.
Rice, as the UN representative is not under the State Department. she is a Cabinet level officer, equal to Hillary, and reports directly to themPresident, not through anyone else.
Previously, the UN Ambassador reported through thenSOS, as it was not a Cabinet level position. Obama changed that.
Hillary could be up there eating roast stuffed baby human and the Media would be praising her as being a champion of recycling....
The Media isn’t the Fourth Estate anymore, it is the Fifth Column.
Hopefully a couple of people who heard earlier that Syria has the WMD will make the logical connection.
Don’t count on it though, logically it really is a big leap to make./s
He belongs in Murder City.
>yield their time to ONE member
No way these egotistical maniacs would do what is best for America. It’s all about facetime, power and money with these traitors.
Just wondering. Are thick glasses more likely to have the prisms required to correct vision problems caused by a stroke???
well.................there was that 500 metric ton of yellow cake uranium ......
Barasso petted her, and now is throwing media history at her that indicated that we had a strong security presence in Benghazi. Hillary not seeming prepared to answer that question. Wuffling around... She doesn’t want to “get mired in the back and forth..” Senator Barrasso back at her about her claiming we wanted to bring the attackers to justice. Hillary throwing the FBI under the bus.
yep...like excessive light spurns epoleptic seizures
She admitted in the beginning it was not a matter of funding AT THAT TIME.
They are trying to make an issue that the funding from Sandy for embassy security was cut. It didn't belong there in the first place! This should have had its own bill.
Prayers up to Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods and their families.
