The Burlington Police Department is staying out of the debate, but did release a statement.

"It is unfortunate that this important and much-needed community dialogue regarding gun control currently under way in the city of Burlington and across the nation has resulted in this action," writes Deputy Chief Andy Higbee.

Dialogue??? The time for any dialogue is before a vote is taken, not after. The vote is a monologue - politicians vote for a ban; their subjects submit to it.

This follows a Burlington City Council vote earlier this month to ban semi-automatic rifles and large-capacity magazines.
What did the cops have to say when the ban was under consideration? Did they support it?

I’m sure glad Florida decided state law preempts all the local jurisdictions on firearms.
