Sidwell administrative types tried to portray their 'police' as doing nothing other than calling the real cops ~ although I kind of wonder if they physically detain the targets of their ire, or what ~ that wasn't described.
Think of Sidwell Friends as like a Target in a toney neighborhood, not like a Wal-Mart in a Houston barrio. They ask you to follow them to the command center to await the cops.
Hmm ~ does not compute. So, I looked up something that might tell us how Sidwell security folks actually work, and this tale gives you an idea ~ >http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/105/88425.page
God help those kids. I really mean this.
because when the shit hits the fan at that school the SS has a job to protect 2 girls and get them out of harms way. Something I am 100% sure they are able to do.
However, protecting the rest of the school is not their job and likely low on the list of priorities. My guess is that their first goal is to GTFO of the building with the girls safely.
There's no doubt they knew about this dude all along, but with the Secret Service coming to Sidwell THEY KNEW they had to get rid of their friend ~ and they did that in a NY sec.
Thank you Saint Basil for your insights. I don’t think anybody said anything to contrary. We’re making the point that his kids get security, but Regular Moms and Dad’s are having their constitutional rights infringed upon. Got it?
Sidwell is built like a fortress ~ they aren’t fooling anybody ~
I remember when Reagan was shot ALL of these ginormous weapons suddenly appeared. Where did the SS carry them? They were all wearing suits.
Republicans are weird; in many cases they give off signs of really NOT wanting to win at all. What REALLY gets their pulse racing and their pants all big is the biiiig MORAL VIIIICTORY.
Uh-huh.
They want to “fight the good fight”, but then LOSE, using some stupid combination of loser tactics that show they’re somehow morally SUPERIOR to others.
And so they lose, but somehow in their minds their loser tactics show that they WIN REAL BIG in some subtle way that only occurs to really amazing, really moral people.
And the related fantasy is to REALLY OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKES —this is huge. It’s like a oogling a whole phalanx of t*tty dancers —gets ‘em SUPER excited...!
I’ve seen this a bunch of times, and I think it’s a smug form of spiritual masturbation, or something. Their early lives in high-school were titty-twisters, noogies, atomic-wegies —picture Marty MacFly, and you’re really close.
Whenever you meet one of these creatures, just pivot on the ball of your foot and break into a sprint, because he/she LOVES for their loser flames to shine really bright with LOTS of like-minded people.
And you DO NOT want to be one of them.
Pardon my naivety in such issues, but isnt the Secret Service armed? If so, then I think that the SS would secure the school if they heard shots being fired at the school, regardless if there was no immediate danger to Obamas daughters.
I highly doubt that would be their orders. Their orders are likely to protect the girls at any and all costs. And that does not include hunting down an active shooter unless he is the room with the girls.
Their job would be to GTFO and protect the girls only.
Sidwell is surrounded by at least a dozen embassies.and the Police HQ is two blocks away.
Fully automatic?
My guess is that when Obama’s kids showed up, the regular guards were replaced with Secret Service.
I doubt all the other libs who have been sending their kids for all these years to Sidwell did so knowing there were no armed guards.
Have you seen these Breitbart pieces?
School Obama's Daughters Attend Has 11 Armed Guards
If you dismiss this by saying, "Of course they have armed guards -- they get Secret Service protection," then you've missed the larger point.
The larger point is that this is standard operating procedure for the school, period. And this is the reason people like NBC's David Gregory send their kids to Sidwell, they know their kids will be protected from the carnage that befell kids at a school where armed guards weren't used (and weren't even allowed).
D.C. School (Sidwell Friends) Posts Job Opening for Police Officer
Before the horrific crime at Sandy Hook Elementary even took place, some schools in our nation were already putting armed security and police officers on their campuses. As a matter of fact, one such schoolSidwell Friends School in Washington, DCposted a job opening for a night shift police officer on Nov. 28, so they could have protection around the clock.
According to the posting, the position "is the overnight/midnight shift," and they made it clear that candidates would have to provide copies of their training credentials, SPO license, and professional references.
Well, at least now I understand why people were upset. I knew they didn’t have armed guards, and I presumed the people who did the video were smart enough to check that, and that they were talking about Secret Service agents, who are armed.
And of course, that’s not because Obama is an elitist, but because he’s the President.
Of course, does anybody really think one of the kids at Sidwell Friends is going to show up and shoot their classmates?
They lied about Jeep moving manufacturing to China to help Ubama get reelected. Why wouldn’t they lie about this?

I disagree. Any federal employee who has a reasonable risk of being a target of terrorists based on their job within the government should have an armed guard to protect them.
We don’t leave our own hanging out to dry. You might as well claim that our troops shouldn’t be allowed to carry guns.
I bet this is all a matter of semantics. They may not have “armed guards” carrying weapons, but I bet there are people at the school that have weapons available to them if they need them.
Yeah—I got it—duh!
My point gives a different take on the article. Do you get that?
