It was on the news when it happened. I was in the Charlotte airport when it broke so it at least made Big Brother's telescreens. I guess the shooter wasn't a white male Christian so it didn't matter to the mediots.
To the media, upstate NY is Yonkers, Westchester and Albany. The rest of us don't exist. In September 2011 we had terrible flooding; entire neighborhoods and villages under water. It was right after hurricane Irene fizzled. After NYC survived without a scratch it was relegated to a non-event. Meanwhile, the rain it dumped up here caused several already swollen rivers to overflow their banks. Million$ lost, thousands displaced. Media = crickets chirping.
Ah, but you have to remember that to the media types, the only places that actually exist are NYC, Washington, DC, Los Angeles/San Francisco, and to a lesser extent Chicago and a very few other liberal bastion big cities. Those places are of interest to THEM, so that is what they report. The rest of the country and world.....not so much.
