Join the National Day of Service
On Saturday, January 19, President Obama and the First Lady, the Vice President and Dr. Biden will take part in an event that's become a tradition -- a National Day of Service on the weekend of Martin Luther King Day to celebrate Dr. King's legacy.
No matter where you are in America, you have an opportunity to join this effort and serve your community. The Presidential Inaugural Committee has helped to organize events all over the country.
Visit their site to find a service opportunity near you.
This National Day of Service is about strengthening the communities that we call home, and that's a goal that we can all share.
So on Saturday, take part in a food drive or help paint a school. Clean up a park or help make care packages for veterans.
There are many ways that all of us can make a difference in our communities and our neighborhoods. Find one here:

The President is looking forward to seeing you out there!
P.S. -- The commitment to public service doesn't end this weekend. Find opportunities to help in your community year round, at Serve.gov.

Ha, ha, good point! Liberals want the government to force someone else to clean up their messes.
Since Obama has the poor covered, I suggest we dedicate the day of service to helping the rich. Everyone head to your local harbor and start cleaning yachts. Or to your nearest country club, and start scrubbing tires and waxing the cars in the parking lot.
it’s not a tradition in my home and never will be as along as dumbass is in office!
America could use another national holiday...
hint hint
Dr. Biden???
What a disgrace!
I imagine the slobbering fatbutt Christie will be there to hold down the stage in case of high winds.
I hope my favorite charities notice my missing contributions. That is how I observe this tragic reign.
I will be driving back from Pennsylvania with my wife and 4 children. I just hope I don’t have any traffic getting back to Annapolis.
But I thought 9/11 was a National Day of Service?
How many “National Days of Service” is this guy gonna appoint? I mean, if he gets his way, every day will become a day of service.
Seconded...
Dr. Biden
Doctor? Since When?
Below shows she is a Professor and they are called Doctors as long as they have a PHD.
Jill Biden has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware, master’s degrees from West Chester University and Villanova University and a doctoral degree from the University of Delaware. She taught English and reading in high schools for 13 years, and also taught adolescents with emotional disabilities at a psychiatric hospital. From 1993 to 2008, she was an English and writing instructor at Delaware Technical & Community College. Since 2009, she has been a professor of English at Northern Virginia Community College and is thought to be the first Second Lady to hold a paying job while her husband is Vice President. She is the founder of the Biden Breast Health Initiative non-profit organization, co-founded the Book Buddies program, and is active in Delaware Boots on the Ground.
“Dr.” Biden? WTF?? I doubt this idiot graduated from high school.

Talking the wife.
The My American Public Service Announcements (PSAs) feature President Obama, Bon Jovi, Usher and everyday volunteers calling upon all Americans to step up and get involved.
