In fact, the piling on by the political left, and their cohorts in the media...

Statements like this need to be repeated over and over and over by every conservative, no matter what the subject is. The Left want to play hardball, let's play.

He said the word “evil.” In liberal la la land, there is no evil, no good, no right, no wrong, no free will. He will be ripped to shreds by the left for this.
And he is right.

In fact, the piling on by the political left, and their cohorts in the media, to use the massacre of little children to advance a pre-existing political agenda that would not have saved those children, disgusts me, personally.

There ain't a whole lot to be added to that right there.

I wonder if the Republic of Texas is interested in expanding its borders? Annexing a couple of states might well be an avenue of clearing up that issue of sovereignty. I can see the people of several adjoining territories liking this if Gov. Perry continues to support the rights of the people.

I just emailed the Texas website link & the text of the statement to my governor here in NC, suggesting that he issue a similar statement.

Well said, Governor.

Very well said.

Our problem is not a matter of law, it is a matter of evil people who violate any and every law.

For the young man who murdered so many innocent children and their heroic teachers, the events started not at the school, but when he murdered his own mother by shooting her four times in the head while she lay in bed.

At the school, it took the local police 11 minutes to respond but the killing was over. Each child had been shot from 3 to 11 times.

Please do not insult my intelligence by telling me what law would have prevented this. The magnitude of evil that was manifested took years to develop, and I suspect that his shattered family life was a significant component.

Tellingly, the first law that was passed to insult our intelligence and to insult the rule of law, was in New York State. That state doesn’t call itself “The Empire State” for nothing.

In their finest hour, liberals (er, now “progressives”) are all about finding “root causes”. Clearly this is not their finest hour because not a single feature of New York’s new law addresses shattered family life, as if any state law really could. And this in a state with 769 murders in 2011 but only FIVE of which were by rifle.

Judging by the common themes of progressives everywhere in response to the Sandy Hook School Massacre, it is an excuse to chip away at private firearms ownership and nothing else.

Why do I get the impression that these people are more and more like Gollum every day, spitting and hissing at anyone, any point of fact, any point of logic, or any provision of the Constitution, that gets between them and their ‘Precious’?

Me thinks all these things stand in the way of progressives gaining their ‘Precious’. Me thinks we have seen this before, with Lenin with Stalin and with Pol Pot. Me thinks we had better NEVER allow these people to attain their ‘Precious’, for if history is any guide, the much desired Precious Secular Utopia will be hell on earth.

Back when we were taught positive values in school, when heroes wore white hats and said “ma’am”, when we sang Christmas Carols in the School gym, before the “don’t put your values on me” crowd took over, we came to school with rifles in our trucks, when shooting after school, no massacres. We were proud to be Americans and certain we were born in the greatest country ever devised.

Now, stripped of those values and fed the values and images and heroes that render most unable to, literally, distinguish between good and evil, this process begins bearing fruit in the most evil manifestations.

What does evil do ? Work to remove our means of defense against itself while continuing to destroy our founding principles. Demonic indeed.

“Guns require a finger to pull the trigger. The sad young man who did that in Newtown was clearly haunted by demons and no gun law could have saved the children in Sandy Hook Elementary from his terror.”

That is the sheer fact of the matter.

But facts never stop Liberals when they are on a tear.

And the entire Liberal agenda is now infused with the Obama modus-operandi - your ideology comes first, not the truth, so never let a good crisis go to waste; exploit it to advance your ideology, not becuase it solves anything other than advancing your ideoolgy, period.

I haven’t been able to find any comment from our governor, she better speak up real soon. She’s starting to be a disappointment.

Nikki Haley, where are you on this?

Thank you for posting the wise words of Gov. Perry. Sadly, the current President's list of 23 is a meaningless political gimmick, lacking substance or meaning.

Just think!

That Being acknowledged by our Declaration of Independence to be Creator and "Divine Providence," and by the First U. S. President to be "the Supreme Ruler of the Universe" only needed Ten Commandments for all people, for all situations, and for all time, and when He came to earth, He summed up those Ten as being only One great law:

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Perhaps if an American President were publicly to acknowledge, as did many previous Presidents, this basic duty of citizens toward each other, emphasizing that the duty is to the Creator and Giver of Life, Liberty, and Rights, then a new tone might be set for youth in the nation.

Were the President of the United States to undertake a national effort to restore the teaching of the ideas of our Declaration of Independence in the schools, emphasizing the Creator-endowed rights and liberties of each individual and their duties and responsibilities as citizens, how might that change the environment in the society?

"Although guided by our excellent Constitution in the discharge of official duties, and actuated, through the whole course of my public life, solely by a wish to promote the best interests of our country; yet, without the beneficial interposition of the Supreme Ruler of the Universe, we could not have reached the distinguished situation which we have attained with such unprecedented rapidity. To Him, therefore, should we bow with gratitude and reverence, and endeavor to merit a continuance of His special favors” ~George Washington, 1797 letter to John Adams

For more words of wisdom from the Founders, visit this site, and search through "older entries" as well.
