People are not dumb enough to register their guns with the new state registry.
The long-gun registry worked so well in Canada it was finally abolished.
If no one complies, that’s a lot of people to arrest and lock up. For the cops, its not worth the hassle.
Especially when failure to register is a misdemeanor offense. And who is going to compel New York to voluntarily register? Andrew Cuomo? In his dreams!
It makes him look good but mark my words: it won’t get a single gun off the streets in New York in the future.

Thaty’s the point- this new law gives the police antoehr source of income to STEAL from us- everytiem they find an unregistered gun- Kaching- money in the bank for them
Not according to that snippet of statute ... in NY possession of an unregistered firearm (which goes hand-in-hand with failure to register) is now a Class E felony.
It is against the law in the city of Chicago to carry a gun, and yet, they have the highest crime rate. Are you hearin’ me? We must resist, refuse, delay, obstruct, sabotage this ahole in OUR White House in any way we can. Go underground, do what you have to do to get what you need.
A family member in NY had his rifles confiscated a few years ago. He was arrested on a bogus stalking charge (the woman was mentally ill) They (courts) told him to turn in his rifles until the case was over. The woman never showed up for court and the case was dismissed. He never got his rifles back.
His lawyer claimed that since he was unemployed at the time it would be difficult to convince the judge to return the rifles. Bogus all around.
