Many Cuban/Americans hate Communism more that we ever could.
With many of their relatives living under the gun of Fidel/Raul Castro,(the castro brothers) they know first hand what its all about. For them communism is a reality that they want no part of.
Cuban immigrants fleeing Castros' communism are a Far different scenario than mexicans. A fourth grade educated 30 year old mexicon crossing the Rio Grande at night and getting on welfare a week later has little in common with the average Cuban American. two different worlds here.
It's always helpful to point out that there are two distinct groups of Cuban immigrants.
The first wave began to arrive around 1960.
Virtually all of them had European ancestors.
Frankly, almost the entire Cuban professional class got up and moved - without a penny - to south Florida.
The second wave began in the late 1970’s.
At least half had African ancestors, many were criminals released from Castro's jails, and few of them had high level skills or advanced education.
By the way, Marco Rubio’s parents immigrated to Miami three years before Castro came to power.
