I question exactly how far any President can go with executive orders.
I would like to see a study of how many have ever been issued and what they were.
I believe we might find that until Franklin Roosevelt became President Executive orders were probably used sparingly but of course under Roosevelt that power was greatly expanded, in many instances Unconstitutionally I believe.
Nixon even used a EO to form the EPA.
Obama certainly had pushed the envelope further than most in recent memory and that just might be the Tripping Point if used in trying to push a Gun Control Agenda.
Also someone pointed out in the Gun Control Act of 1968 that buried in that bill was a provision for the Secretary of the Treasury to ban any and all imported guns if it did not fit the description of one for sport. Does anyone not think that the new nominee Jack Lew would not use this?
We are indeed in perilous times.
