Here’s another consequence that the election had – now that the tax cuts have expired, Obama can’t do anything unless we say “Yes.” From here on in, if he wins it’s because we let him win. So don’t.

Given the wording of the Constitution, this was also the case prior to the Cliff Cave. He won because Republicans let him win.

So why did they?

Maybe because at the Federal level, the GOP IS Boehner.

This whole last election was Boehner, as the top-GOP, keeping his position. Romney at the top of the ticket killed what should have been Tea Party gains in both houses.

Boehner’s no Conservative and certainly acts like he considers the Tea Party a bigger threat to him than the Democrats. So, now we have a supine House, with Boehner safely in charge, and the Democrats have no real opposition.

I thought I had read earlier that the House seats up in 2014 do not really threaten Republican control of the House, too. If that is true, then Boehner sees his position at the head of the trough unthreatened for at least four more years.
