KSen has been around for a very, very long time — almost since the beginning of Free Republic. His posting history indicates he hasn't been a troll but rather an honest and open advocate of his views.
He was once active on the Calvinist ping list. He's a former political conservative who changed his position. I think we can learn from such people. After-action reports are good to see what we did wrong as well as what we did right.
However, a quick Google search shows that he's started some threads on Free Republic, including “Who is Ksen,” which the moderators pulled. He's also a participant on at least one other discussion board talking about Free Republic. I don't want to post a link to that website without permission, but googling “Free Republic suicide watch thread” will pull up what I'm talking about.
The moderators may have had reasons for their actions which go beyond this thread. Their call.
But if it were my call, I'd give a second chance with a strict warning to a Freeper who dates back to 1998. I think that old of a sign-up date merits special consideration.
Really? Egads, I find that even more intriguing; when there is a change in political affinity, the reverse is far more prevalent. When people grow out of their fantasies, or get mugged by reality, they seem to move away from liberalism. Ksen indicated he was hard left, thought Bambi was a moderate (how you describe a Marxist as a moderate is beyond me), believed in redistribution, said very strange things such as conservatives took the side of the rich young ruler in parables; a very unusual poster to say the least.
I wonder why they zotted him?
