Just, out of curiosity, if registered gun owners reported their guns ‘stolen’ would they remain in the system as a gun owner?

Most likely a loner that is collecting a couple hundred or even several thousand license plate numbers hoping for a payday, or IRS exemptions, maybe a citizenship.
Just gathering info until the time that info is worth gold.
Canada apparently gave up on their database.
Isn’t a federal background check already required on all non-private gun purchases? Don’t gun dealers already keep records of who purchased what? If so, the government certainly knows who has had a background check. That might not tell them exactly what a person owns, but it implies who is and isn’t buying guns. Also, couldn’t they pass a law requiring gun dealers to turn over their records? If so, the only guns off the books would be ones that are sold between private owners.
Most likely, and your credit card will be examined periodically and compared to red flagged ammo purchases and etc.
You could build a replica even down to the serial number or do some Youtube editing magic and show a video recording of you taking a cutting torch to your guns, in effect you are destroying them as a favor to save tax payers dollars.
"The obama administration, the same one that gave thousands of so called "assault weapons" to bloodthirsty Mexican drug cartel killers, MS 13 and Chicago gangs and armed al queda in the Mideast with real assault weapons, RPGs and manpads wants to confiscate AR 15s and similar firearms from law abiding Americans.
Bring it on mr PRESidENT!"
Throw a gun destruction party, invite all your neighbors, get as many sworn witnesses as possible. But beforehand take edited shots of actual guns being torched or shredded, leave nothing that can be reconstructed, use replicas.
Burn safe queens of dubious value, get plenty of replica ARs in the mix, get an expert to film everything, post it on the web.
Not everyone complied. An estimated 65% of firearms owners registered at least one rifle or shotgun, and no more than half of all long guns ended up in the registry. Opposition was intense and has never abated. Grassroots anger helped to fuel the rise of the Reform Party, and contributed to the elimination of the Liberals as a political force in the West. Despite their mutual antagonism, three opposition parties (Reform, Progressive Conservative and New Democrat) united against the legislation. Only the Bloc Québécois voted with the Liberals.
In 2002, the auditor-general revealed that the Firearms Centre had grown out of control. Despite political promises that the program would not cost over $2-million, costs were expected to exceed $1-billion by 2005. By 2012, this had ballooned to $2.7-billion. The auditor-general uncovered irregularities including mismanagement and corruption. Her findings stimulated a parliamentary revolt. In 2003, Parliament imposed an annual spending cap.
The auditors reports led to RCMP investigations of Liberal insiders and contributed to the fall of the Liberal government in 2006."

Unfortunately the majority of the evil Obama has done has been forgotten..Obama has gotten away with murder repeatedly and doesn’t have to explain ANY of it..Fast and Furious, Benghazi, he has to answer for nothing which is despicable but since he has 90 percent of the media in the tank for him he can do whatever he pleases..he wants to go after guns, he won’t get away with it, he wants a civil war its ON
Unfortunately, the many errors and omissions in the registry vitiate its utility. The RCMP testified to the auditor-general that they could not rely on it in court. Recent information shows that many errors remain despite the best efforts of the Canadian Firearms Program.
Immense problems similarly have been reported concerning the accuracy of the South African firearms registry and the now-abandoned New Zealand long-gun registry.
The RCMP has reported error rates between 43% and 90% in firearms applications and registry information. "
A political entity where only the police have guns is, by definition, a Police State.
We need our own database. Many have lists. We need to prioritize and focus.
The moment any anti-gunner suggest that there be some reasonable compromise, offer them this:
We will compromise by agreeing that every firearm transfer be subject to a check to verify that the buyer is legally qualified.
They will compromise in that the qualification process will not involve disclosing to the verifying agency any information about the actual firearm purchased, or even that a purchase actually occurred.
This means simply that unqualified buyers are in a database by their drivers license and other info, and anyone can call in to the 800 number or website, enter a buyer’s driver’s license number and name, and see if they’re allowed to purchase.
It’s nothing more than “carding” to show age qualification at the liquor store.
If you find the first part reprehensible, I understand and agree, but you can be sure that the anti gunners would never go for this, and the fact that they won’t proves that a confiscation-enabling database is their goal.
Their was another law requiring the POTUS to be a Natural Born Citizen and the courts are all ignoring that one, they will do the same with this one.
Secession and restriction of goods movement to blue states.
Starve em out.
