This is not a tax increase. Hussein temporarily lowered the prevailing payroll tax and funded it with more deficit. Knowing the system was going bankrupt he did it anyway because he hates each and every American.

Letting the Bush tax cuts expire wouldn't have been a "tax increase" either, since those too were intended to be temporary.

Taxes went up.

That is the very definition of a "tax increase".

It doesn't matter where they were before they were 4.2%. They went from 4.2% to 6.2%, ergo a tax increase. (And it wasn't a 2% increase either...from 4.2 to 6.2 is a 47.6% increase.)
